This evening was the Dell Future Ready event at the Natural History Museum in London.
The event was hosted by Dell’s UK CEO Tim Griffin and Dell Owner and Chairman Michael Dell
Michael Dell spoke about the EMC acquisition and the importance of preparing for the future and going through a digital transformation.
One element that really resonated with me was to consider the disruption Uber and AirBnB have had on their respective industries as startups utilising cloud technology, imagine what will happen when that disruption comes to your industry, technology is now a real enabler for startups and it is no longer if the disruption will happen to your industry but when. The biggest risk to your business is not taking any risk at all! We’ve heard that somewhere before, that was the key message from Pat Gelsinger at VMwold.
Michael Dell explained that the future is all about the Software Defined Convereged model and that every business needs to transform to be a software house to deliver keys differentiators to their customers.
Below you can see the doodle I created whilst at the event noting some of the key points.
